A new “Imprint” for DoimoCucine
A new language, made of scale, matter and light, reveals the soul of those who inhabit individual spaces and the value of each design choice. The Imprint of Ferruccio Laviani.
On the 11th and 12th of March 2026, Villa Necchi Campiglio, a stately home from the 1930s in the heart of Milan, iconic enough to have come under the tutelage of the FAI – Fondo per l’Ambiente Italiano ETS, the foundation of which we are a Corporate Golden Donor, hosted the presentation of “Imprint”, the result of the first months of collaboration with the architect Ferruccio Laviani, artistic director of DoimoCucine, together with professionals from his studio.
Day one began with our agents, with whom we retraced the commercial results of 2025 in Italy and Europe, concluding with a focus on the achievable objectives and possibilities opened up by our new artistic direction. We then welcomed our retailers to Villa Necchi Campiglio, in person or in direct streaming, to attend a presentation of the work by the architect Ferruccio Laviani and his team, indications for the future and the designs summarised in the book Imprint, unveiled and illustrated to those in attendance.
The day concluded with an event for architects that included a round table with Marco Martin, our general director, Giuseppe Bincoletto, chief marketing officer di We.Do, the holding of which we are a part, Giorgio di Tullio, system designer of pioneering visions and, naturally, the architect Ferruccio Laviani. The role of moderator was elegantly performed by Giorgio Tartaro, a leading journalist in the communication of architecture and design.
Day two was dedicated to meetings with representatives of the press and new media. Ferruccio Laviani enthralled attendees with his description of how he employed his observations, his personal taste and his own experience to weave a story of identity and continuity between past and future, setting out from our All-arounD system, which has proven to be a solid and necessary foundation atop which to impress his own imprint and transform it into form, matter and direction.
Given the many opportunities captured in our kitchen system, he wished to be an omnivorous as possible, ignoring no direction to create a map comprised of fixed points, compositions, functions and finishes, that guides us through a landscape in continuous transformation. “Imprint” is a collection of 7 compositions of highly contemporary opportunities, with architectural volumes that dialogue with the rest of a space, a connection that manages to unite rigour with functionality on the one hand, and sensibility and emotion on the other.
As the architect Ferruccio Laviani explained: “When I build a palette, I always imagine the kitchen as a space that needs to exist at all hours of the day: early morning light, the silence of the afternoon, the reflections that appear in the evening. Light changes, it engages in a dialogue with material, it becomes atmospheric because I never wish the kitchen to be neutral: I want it to have a soul. In the end, each finish, each tone, each pairing, is born of a search for balance. The correct combination cannot be explained; it is simply recognised: this is the moment when everything aligns and a design begins to breathe.”
